    Should I attempt feeding today?

I posted briefly about this on another thread, but to re-cap... I have a new adult female who arrived last Wednesday, and she refused her first meal the day before yesterday. I think she refused because I got a large rat by accident (small/medium would be more appropriate), and it was her first time seeing F/T. So I was going to wait another week and try live, but she's been cruising for food since late last night!

As I type this she's sniffing all over the tank, and even tried to strike at something in the background image - bonked her nose pretty hard, which caused her to sulk for a while in the hide. She's definitely not stressing or trying to escape, since it's a slow relaxed "hunting" behavior (i.e. resting on her log and periscoping). She's usually in her cave 24/7, so I'm assuming this is a sign that she's hungry? Should I get her a rat today? All the expert advice says to wait a week, but I think she wants it NOW...

I would say just wait a week. Then she will be really hungry by then and will eat for sure. She may "look" hungry now, but it doesn't necessarily mean she is. You won't starve her by waiting a week

Re: Should I attempt feeding today?

Thanks! I'm such a dog/cat owner (and snake newbie), the concept of "waiting another week" still seems weird to me... LOL. Guess I'll wait until the next time I feed my others, and hopefully she will be raring to go by then!
