I changed the setup I had and inserted the thermostat probe between the heat mat and the tank and it is not functioning as it should.
Before it used to switch on and off every few minutes (which i guess is the correct way), now it's taking a lot of time to go on and off and the temperature fluctuates more in dangerous levels (both up and down).
Is it possible that since the thermostat probe is 'wedged' between the heat mat and the tank and is fit in tightly it is not giving accurate readings?
should i try to elevate the tank a few more millimeters so that the probe is a little less tight?
