    Can I Spray Paint...?

I was just wondering if i can spray paint melamine? I promised myself not to make anymore racks and just buy pro-made ones because they are already black, but i decided to build one out of melamine the best i could.. But i hate the white color.. So, could i spray paint melamine? I know there are special type of spray paint for plastic...

You can order the melamine in black. or use Krylon, but check to see if it's safe.

The paint will most likely not adhere properly, nothing to bond with. I tried it a couple of times and it looked great until you move it, put anything on it, bump it with a broom handle, any sort of scraping took the paint right off.

I was using Krylon brand paint, maybe that was it.

melamine will hold paint for about 5 minutes and as soon as it dries, it will flake off.
