    You can keep a baby tegu in that tank for a period of time, but it WILL outgrow it, so you'll have to plan on what you'll do when it grows up.
    You do NOT need a heat rock, but you DO need a basking spot, which you make with a heat lamp. You will need UVB light, since the sun going through the window glass will not carry the full UVB, and better safe than sorry!
    You will need a thermometer to make sure the sunlight through the window/into the tank does not raise the temps TOO high, and also, you may need to customize the cover so it will hold enough humidity.
    It's great that you are making your plans early! You can get it all set up and ready before the tegu comes in.
