Your plan sounds great!

You might skip the antibacterial soap part though. Usually a soak in a Chlorhexidine bath would suffice. Once a day to every other day.

Pull her out and dry her off, then apply your ointment. Ask your vet for Silvadene/Thermazene. Its better IMO than any other topical stuff, it's also water based so theres no risk of scales falling off from a petroleum based one.

Towels sound great.

Make sure she can't soak in her bowl, make sure it's small enough.

She WILL look better, but it may not look like it's cleared up entirely. After she shed it should be all cleared up. You know what your doing, just get into a routine, and stick with it. If it doesn't get any better, or gets worse, she MAY need antibiotics.
