I had jus gotten back into the gym regularly as I started on my quest to lose about 25-30 lb. Basketball was a regular source of cardio for me. Today I'm playing after I got off work(I work at USC's gym, so it's not hard to bring clothes to lift or play bball). We were running the first 5 on 5 game that had been played this summer and during the second game I jump to block a shot on a break away lay up and my foot lands directly on the other guy's foot.
Thought it may be broken, so I called my mom who's an MD. She tells me to drive home(it's about an hour to my parent's house). My roommate drives me to the hospital in Sumter and we get it x-rayed and they came out negative. Just a severe high ankle sprain....which is the part I'm bummed about...If it would have just been a cracked fibula...I would probably be good to go in about 3-4 weeks, but the last time I sprained my ankle this bad I actually had access to a very good physical therapist and I lost 6 games of the football season and I think this one may be worse.
I'm glad I'm not worse off, just kinda po'd that I did this right as I was getting back into the swing of things physically.
Sorry for the long post...just needed to rant.
