I think my females prego. HELP!!!

Alrite, I've been dieing for this girl to lay some eggs for a while now. I had her in with my pastel male last november and december. They locked and everything but she never got prego. About a month or two ago, i've noticed her midsection down to her tail has gotten really fat. She's been refusing meals, and ive seen her lay her body sideways a lot on top of the heat tape side of her cage and also next to her waterbowl. Also when she's sideways I can see little bumps on her side, I think there eggs. Anyone think she's pregnant? If so when do you think she would lay the eggs?

I've never had the fortune you are experiencing now, but have read up quite a bit in anticipation of it. If she will let you pick her up, do it carefully, and you should be able to distinguish individual eggs feeling down her body with your fingers gently. She should also be going into shed sometime soon, if she hasn't already, and there is a time after that to expect her to lay them. I don't remember how long a time it is though. That shed is called the "Post Ovulation Shed", or POS. There are numerous sites out there that have a WEALTH of helpful breeding info, like 8 Ball Pythons, and Ralph Davis Reptiles. Your snake will do all the real work herself, so relax a little.

Lol. Yea Ive read up on breeding a lot. But what surprised me is how she got pregnant about 4 or 5 months after she was locking up with my male. I've read up on leopard geckos retaining sperm for about 6 months and still laying fertile eggs even while not being with a male. I actually have a leopard gecko doing that now. She's laid 2 clutches of eggs after only being with one male and she's about to drop another clutch. But anyways I've never read about ball pythons retaining sperm, but i guess they do. And yea she lets me pick her up but im really bad at trying to feel for eggs. lol

Yes ball pythons can retain sperm. I've heard that they can retain it for up to 2 years.

All it takes is one lock, she probably ovulated you'll hopefully get egg's in about 50 days.

Well she actually just dropped her eggs today. I made a post. She laid only 5 eggs but I didnt get 1 slug. thanks for your help tho guys. Its really appreciated. Well now I just gotta wait til they hatch. lol
