Leave it alone for a week and let it get used to being there. It won't matter at all if it misses a feed or 2. Also don't be afraid of it biting you I promise it doesn't hurt any worse than getting shot with a rubber band. And you can feed it in the same container its in. Good luck.

Leave it be for a week and feed in the enclosure. Moving to a separate container will just cause stress and more possible bites.

Re: Helppp!!!! NEW ALBINO BALL PYTHON

If it's biting and nervous, you definitely want to let it be for a week or so. Just make sure to keep an eye on temps and keep fresh water avail. I have always fed in the enclosure and have never had any issues. That's really a personal preference that probably doesn't need to be debated again. If it's your first snake, we have a caresheet avail here..http://ball-pythons.net/modules/Sect...warticle&id=59

Re: Helppp!!!! NEW ALBINO BALL PYTHON

Congrats on the new albino. Leave it alone for a while, wait until after it sheds and gets settled in before you feed it, and when you finally do start to handle it, just reach in with confidence and pick it up. Relax a bit, and read the care sheets on this site. The snake needs a couple of weeks to settle in and get comfortable, especially since it is in shed, and you need to not worry about getting bit. When you are afraid it's going to bite you, you'll end up acting shifty while you are picking it up and holding it, and that is what will end up causing a bite. If you do get bit, it doesn't hurt.

hate to say it,,but you will eventually take a hit,,might be a year or 2,for me was 6 months,,,however,if it makes you feel more at ease, checkout tongs.com,theyve got some nice hooks, hook it out of the enclosure and then transfer to your hand for a little bit til your comfort area is up,i mainly use hooks during breeding,as the main male i used is a biter, and 3 of my females are fast strikers,so i kinda didnt wanna get bit twice at one time.this is the main hook i use http://tongs.com/smallhook.aspx
