    Pied is a recessive trait, meaning that an animal must carry two copies of the pied gene to be a visual piebald. So a het piebald is a normal looking animal that carries one copy of the pied gene. Since that animal only has one copy of the pied gene instead of two it looks visually normal. She would have to be bred to another animal carrying the pied gene to produce any pieds. This means she could be bred to a male het pied for a 25% chance of producing pieds or to a male pied for a 50% chance of producing pieds. Breeding her to a normla would not produce pieds. This is all assuming she is a 100% het for piedbald and not a possible het.
