Shedding question
So I got a quick question on shedding. Ive had my since the beginning of April, and he has shed only once, about a week after I got him. When I got him, he was around 315g. Now he's weighing in at around 450g, and he has not shed yet. I don't think I should be worried, because he eats fine, drinks fine, is totally chill, but how long is normal. He's significantly bigger than he was then, and I would expect him to have shed by now. How long do your ball pythons typically go before shedding (he was born about mid 08 according to the breeder, but he's growing quickly)? My brother has 5 BPs and all of them (3 are much smaller, 1 is about the same, slightly smaller, and his bigger female which is around 700g) shed around the same time as my Lucifer, and have since shed. Thanks for the help!

Re: Shedding question
This is probably the very last thing I would worry about. They shed when they shed. It depends on the growth rate and the individual snake. I have one male who sheds quite frequently and some others who only seem to shed a few times a year.

Re: Shedding question
Yeah I'm less worried about it, and more curious. What is it that causes the actual shedding process. I know its gotta be essentially outgrowing your skin, but I would think a 30% increase in weight would pretty much take care of that. If I jumped from 220-290 in like 2 months I bet I'd have some crazy stretch marks lol.

Re: Shedding question
mine are around that weight and shed every 2-3 months. No worries
