I purchased a hatchling ball python approximately a month and a half ago. At the time of purchase the breeder/seller stated she was a week old.
Currently she is housed in a 10 gallon enclosure. However I am going to put her in a larger enclosure as she looks a little cramped.
I know eventually I will place her in a 40 gallon breeder or its equivalent in the next two or so years. Money wise I think it would be smart to purchase a 40 gallon breeder now and be done with it. However, I don't want to stress her with all the enormous space and cause her to go on a hunger strike.
If I decide to buy a 20 gallon long enclosure how long would that last before having to upgrade her enclosure? The 20 gallon long is 30 inches long by 12 inches deep by 12 inches tall. My ball python is every bit of 18 inches long.
Any guidance would be much appreciated.
