When will females start to breed?

Not, when should you breed them, but what is the smallest they are capable of breeding? I was watching my 400 g male and 360 g female just cruising around my feet yesterday. I swear I saw a little tail wagging from my male. I'm not really worried right now, because I doubt they would do anything this young.

How much longer can I have them out together, without having any........um......... dirtyness? lol. I just want to be safe. I don't want to be expecting any little one unless we are both ready, and the female is big and healthy

Search is your friend. This has been discussed ad nauseum.

Re: When will females start to breed?

I'm sorry, you must have misunderstood me. I have done a lot of searching, and the only thing I can come up with is that they should not be breed until they are between 1300-1500 lbs.

I can understand how many threads there are on when you can breed your female, but this is not my question. I am not interested in breeding now.

I know they can be sexually mature in their second winter. This will be my females second winter. My question is, when do I need to stop having them out together?

I imagine you are tired of answering the same thread over and over. You do not need to answer if you don't want too.

If I am mistaken and this thread has been posted, please direct me to it.

Re: When will females start to breed?

i had a freind that kept his 2 together the female was just over 800 grams she got gravid and droped 1 good and 3 slugs.....

but letting them slide on your foot together and a bit of tailwagging is not a bad thing.
just dont let them do the dirty...
