does this sound right to any of you??

OK, I wont name any names here, but here is a situation I am in.

A guy I agreed to do a trade with said he had a 1500 gram female lesser that he was willing to trade me after she laid her eggs. The snake came in tuesday and looked fine, didnt look skinny like she had dropped eggs the previous week, but wasnt fat either. The guy claimed that this 1500 gram female dropped 9 eggs. yes, 9 eggs. I weighed her, and she was 859 grams. Not an unhealthy 859, but thats a far cry from the 1500 gram female I was expecting. My 1500 gram females lost about 1/3 of their weight when they dropped their clutches, and they were much bigger than the female in question. I guess my question is...is it possible that this female could have possibly dropped 9 eggs...if she did wouldnt she be much skinnier? I did not get a pic of her on 9 eggs, or any for that matter. I just want to know if I am getting hosed again. I put this in the breeding section because of the weight issue, not sure where else to put it.
here she is just hanging out

Are you sure she is actually a she? She doesn't even look large enough to have been 1500 grams? IMO>

She is super hot. She is a she, but SHE aint no 1500 gram breeder IMO either! I just wanted to get some other opinions. my 1500 gram females seemed much larger than her when they started eating again, Its a shame, but I think she is going back

You might want to think a bit on whether or not you are sending her back. She is big enough she is likely to breed next season, and you certainly weren't expecting her to breed again this season.

I know there is still a difference between a proven breeder and a young virgin who will just be up to size next year. For sure I'd make a note of the seller and not do business with him/her again.

But you have said she is super hot. How likely are you to find another lesser female that is as nice that will be ready to breed next year?

Not trying to say what you should do... just giving you another angle to think about.

this may sound dumb, but if you TRULY like her looks, you can easily have her breedable by this coming season,as even if she did "lay eggs"this season she couldnt be bred again yet anyway, maybe contact the other party with your concerns, and explain the question, and maybe see if they will put a little something in to go with her,if your truly happy with her looks that is.....

Re: does this sound right to any of you??

She should definitely go next season, without a doubt. But I traded my killer bee female for what I thought was going to be an 1800 gram lesser next season for a sub adult and a pewter male. I think I am way down on the bad end of this trade. I surely wont be dealing with this person again, this is the second of 3 deals that have been misrepresented on his part. I do not like being lied to. if you say she dropped a few eggs, fine, but 9?? Really?? I am by no means an expert..but I have had a good first year, and I honestly do not believe this female is what I was told she was. Guess I will just sleep on it and figure it out in the morning

she is OBVIOUSLY not what was promised, and i am in no way saying she is,,,just kind of food for thought...i wouldnt keep it as the trade stands,,but ask him if hed be willing to toss in something to go along with it,or a bit of cash to make it right
