Tried something new; lost a body part in the process

Maybe I should have posted this in the small pet forum since these guys are technically off the menu (for now).

I've been only breeding my friendliest /healthiest ASF's and have been handling all the babies daily trying to get some lines that reliably produce docile animals--I know a ton of people who want them for pets.

I'm at the point where I have a few groups that actively come up to interact with you, lick your fingers, will play with your hand--the whole pet thing, so I decided to move my favorites into one of my rat's old cages and see how they liked that. Turns out the love the hammocks and love to climb. I was cleaning the new cage tonight and as usual, a few of them decided to run up my arm and sit on my shoulder. I noticed they were being unusually quiet and were under my hair. I popped them back in the cage and a huge chunk of my hair went with one of them. My hair is/was a few inches above my waist and the little jerk chewed it off at the scalp. I now have a lovely 5" square bald patch right at the back of my head. No updo's for summer I guess

    The culprit:

Their new home, unless they find some other way to disfigure me--then it's straight into the snake room.

5" square is a HUGE patch of hair

Edit: I just measured. That would be pretty much the whole back of your head.

Yup, it's like a 1/6 of my total hair or so. Luckily my next door neighbor is a 'weavologist', so hopefully she can rig something up that will work with what's left. If not, at least I probably won't have to do any demos at work for our prospective clients--wouldn't want to scare them off.

Wow that does suck!! At least they didn't try to gnaw your skin off too awesome set up too. I hope you can get some docile babies and give them away/sell them as pets.

    You should post a picture
