Re: My new BP cage in the works!

Seal the board, with either hot glue or silicone, but don't glue it down. Simple.

That's what I'm doing with the cages I'm building right now. As for fire hazard, the ventilation holes in the wood, and a good thermostat, help prevent that. At any rate, only an actual spark would set the wood on fire as it would take a lot of just heat to do it...more than a UTH is capable of putting out.

At home depot now, gettng some dimmers and cages for the lights. I think I'll leave the floor unglued incase I have issues with the bulbs.

Re: My new BP cage in the works!

Bah, I'm so torn now. I have the supplies to do either really.

I guess question two would be, could I put the UTH on the back wall (back left side) and vent out the rear? I planned on stacking the cages on top of each other, so lower vents wouldn't vent.
    Too many options.

Lower vents would vent...if you added short legs like I am.

My cages will be stacking as well. Each one will have 6" legs and the legs will fit into PVC sleeves on the tops of each cage.

I admit...I never understood the idea behind people putting vents at the top of a cage they want to keep heat in.

I don't think anyone in this thread has suggested upper vents.

Good looking cage. You could use a radiant heat panel instead of of a lamp or under tank heater.

Granted, a Radiant Heat Panel would work as well. I keep forgetting about them cause they're too expensive for me.
