    Inverted female!

So I have been breeding my female this year for the first time. I introduced my male late(April 28 to be exact). They copulated a bunch of times. I never witnessed an ovulation at all, but, my female shed on May 15. She has been eating the whole time, in fact she just ate a medium rat on Sunday. This morning I woke up and she was completly inverted?? I pulled my male the other day because he is kinda drained of energy and is in blue. I didin't think my female was gravid because she is still eating, but, these are the signs right? Should I stop feeding her? When in the process of gestation do they actually start inverting themselves. When should I expect eggs? Oh, she has a major glow to her also. You guys' help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Mike

This link should help you understand the process a little better in terms of what to expect when:
    http://www.ballpython.ca/gallery/breeding.html

It lists laying inverted as something that happens before ovulation. However, I have also seen members here post pics of females that were close to laying that were also laying inverted.

    Re: Inverted female!

I hope she is gravid, but last year I had a female who decided to lay inverted and in weird positions--and she had never even locked! She just seemed to like laying like that.

So should I continue to pair them up?

    Re: Inverted female!

Everything I've heard says keep pairing till they stop showing interest, lol. But that's really up to you. You said that you pulled your male the other day because he looks like he's drained of energy...well, if he's wearing thin, then it'd probably be best to go ahead and wait till next year.

But I'm by no means experienced, haha. I'm just parroting back what I've read other, more experienced people say. I'm sure they'll jump in with useful information soon!
