My snakes do get names, but sometimes it takes a snake months to acquire it's name. I like to find a name that suits the snake, if possible. Whether it be because of their personality, color/pattern, or a habit they have, they get named something! I would say there are easily 60 permanently named snakes here, and a few more still acquiring their name, and that's how I remember the names, because they have some kind of meaning to me and are not just a randomly assigned thing. some examples:
Bella- my spoiled little female pastel BP
Splat- female Bp with a big SPLAT pattern on her side
Eric Cartman- fat and angry male BP
Thief- banded BP
Kenny- I thought he was dead once
Sly - shy little spider BP
Cinnabun- BP looks like... a cinnamon roll
Ra,
Isis &
Osiris - king rat snakes named for egyptian gods
Sledge- hognose, valentines day gift, since my boyfriend's last name is Hammer we named our "son" sledge
Dishwasher- escaped and turned up 3 months later in that household appliance
Tightie Whitie- this name was never meant to stick, but it did.... the white sided black rat snakes just remind me of those underwear... and I would call her that jokingly but now it's her name!

Rose

Radish- A plains garter snake (thamnophis radix). I brought her home as a baby from the show and saw my mom, I said MOM I FINALLY GOT A RADIX! I knew she didn't know what that meant but I didn't care. Then she asked me why the hell I bought a radish at a snake expo....
