    Giant or super giant?

    Meet Cornelius.

He is my leopard gecko from VMSherp. When i got him it said on their site that from breedings the giants and super giants were mixed but most were more than likely supers.
From my measurements this morning, he is about 9 inches (would not stay still but I'd like to say 9.25), 94.8 grams
oh, and he just turned 8 months last tuesday.

and sorry about bad photos and quality. Camera phone pictures.

Don't know if he is a giant or super giant but he is a nice looking big boy!!!
Ron Tremper says male super giants often reach 110+ grams in 12 months. Giant males generally weigh 90-110 grams. Super giants exceed 110 grams. All this was stated by mr. Tremper. Here is a link (don't know if you read it or not) http://www.leopardgecko.com/giantfaq.html

lol. Thank you. Saw that too while you gave me that link for the enigma question i had. It really is educational. I was just wondering if there was a way to tell YET i guess if he's still growing (just shed today) chances are good he's a super giant. I guess i'll just have to continue waiting

He's more than likely a Giant. But he's only 8 months so if he reaches over the 100 gram mark he would be a super giant IMO. Nice looking guy!

    Thank you
also, would the frequency of shedding have anything to do with rate of growth? These questions come from curiosity of his genes but also because i do want to breed him (in a few years, once i get his mates and all that) and i'm just thinking of what his offspring would be as well. Lol.

    Giant or super giant?

I have a female thats 10 inches and weighs 110 grams. does it mean its a giant and super giant, no. Some geckos get robust. Honestly unless you buy a giant or super giant from the original guys who created the morph its pretty hard to say if any gecko is a giant or super giant. Do you have a beautiful big boy, thumbs up. yes you do. Remember the old saying. You get what you pay for. If you went to Ron Tremper or geckosetc.com than theres a solid chance your buying a Super Giant. I think that these days alot of people are throwing the Giant or Super Giant term around to loosely. And if you tell someone that the gecko they have isn't 100% a giant or super giant they get mad or other people on the forums get upset. This is a simple question you asked. Which can not be answered in one sentence. I have heard of rumors of this person and that person having geckos over 200 grams. But where is the proof. I can photoshop also. I like real proof. I feel Ron and the Origal people who help create the Super Giant should sell you a linage certificate. lol. Like a pedigree. From Moose or Godzilla or the other guys who were helping create the Super Giant 30 years ago. hope this helps.
