Here's a pic of Lillith "taking" her neb treatment... this is a hand held portable nebulizer with 0.083% neb solution placed in her tank for 1 minute...

Right? She LOVES it. Every since she couldn't breath without struggling and we went ahead and tried it.. she goes right to it. It's like she knows it helps her. I wish I could get a vet on the horn so I could discuss it further. in the meantime, since it helps her breath so well, I'm going for it. I'm sure she'd die otherwise. She always gets so mcuh worse overnight until we let her have a bit in the a.m.

Would this be for an RI? I've never heard of this before, but it looks interesting...

Yes, a mssive RI that resulted in a "death rattle' and gasping. I was grasping at straws over the holiday weekend. Decided to show a pic of her using it now that I can.

She;s not just amused. She appears to love the neb itself. She flocks to it, like she knows it is helping her breath.

me too. like i said, there is some authority on a neb itself, but none for albuterol, which is a bronchiadilator. She was going to die either way so we went for it. now, as several days have passed without incident and she gets better on it, i'm going for it. I've owned her for 9 days now (she got dropped in my lap) and it's working. I'm going to keep it up until the vets i am calling say otherwise. godspeed.

Well I officially found a vet! Guy was nice enough to call me and chit chat. He reassured me about the effects of the Baytril and eased my mind. Also suggested I continue neb treatments but with plain saline and see if that helps just as well. I think I surprised him with what I wound up doing, but he said it obviously helped, so can't be that bad. Couldn't find any authority on albuterol, but was interested. So I'm switching her to plain saline tonight to continue to break up the secretions and after she's no longer showing symptoms, I'm bringing her in to him to verify as he continues the antbx for 7 days past showing symptoms.
