    Ball Python Feeding Problems....Please Help

My ball python Allah(yup, its that) is usually a great feeder and eats almost whenever I offer him food. But since last week, all he has been doing is just striking at the mouse then just pulling back, kind of defensively. I am really stressing out right now because he has the motivation to eat, but it seems he does not have the skill or whatever. I am thinking it might be mouth rot since it affects the teeth and he might not get good grip on the rodent, then he probably finds it painful for him to strike, and then lets go. I have been swabbing his mouth with a 1.5 percent dilute solution of hydrogen peroxide, and still no positive results.

    Help!

sounds like the poor guy is stressed out and is striking defensively. stop swabbing out his mouth!! leave him alone for a week, make sure all his husbandry is correct and try again..in a WEEK.

Thanks for advice, but he was doing this BEFORE I started swabbing his mouth. I have to give him a week since he is in shed, so yeah. Thanks though

Nevermind then. There seems to be some kind of trend with bps about 1000-1200g stop eating for a bit. Just checking.

yea, if you don't see anything wrong with his mouth... don't treat it!!! It's stressful and very uneccesary, it sounds more like he is just tempermental and off feed at the moment. Even the best eating BP's can go off feed.
