When to know it's time to upgrade
At what size do you let your BP's reach before moving them over to their next size up on their setup? I currently have my baby ball in a 10 gal tank until he's grown a bit more to put him in a larger enclosure.. but I was curious when most of you make that transition over.. what length or what girth?

I've recently move mine to a long 20 gallon...my snake is about 2 feet...i'm planning on moving it to a 40 gallon when it reaches like 3 feet or 3 feet and a half...

I started in a 20, I moved to a 40 when she was 3 ft long. I hope my tank's not too big though. With all the stuff in it, it's seems ok. But I've heard a 30 is plenty for an adult.

Re: When to know it's time to upgrade
Do yall prefer tall or long setups? We were thinking of either going to a 20 or 30 long or a 20 tall for him later on. We want to put enough climbing branches in there for him and just give him a real natural look to his enclosure. He's only about a foot and a half long though so he still has some growing to do.

They don't normally climb too much unless trying to escape, so I'd say a tall is not needed.

Not only do they not climb much as adults but tall enclosures are harder to heat and keep humidity in, especially for an animal that is not going to benefit much from the added height.
