Re: UTH and Tubs?
UTH will be fine on the bottom of the tub as long as you are using a thermostat.

Re: UTH and Tubs?
Flexwatt will melt a tub if it is unregulated. Common sense. If a heat source is going to melt any material in or near your snakes enclosure, then it is obviously too hot. If you think a UTH will melt a plastic enclosure then it is obvious that the UTH shouldn't be running just by itself, even in a glass enclosure. Use a thermostat and you are golden.

The temps of what? The UTH? If you set the thermostat at 90, it will be at 90. Your hot spot should be around 92-93* though.

Re: UTH and Tubs?
You set your thermostat to whatever it takes to get your warm side temps where they need to be. I have mine set to 97 at home to get my proper gradient.

Re: UTH and Tubs?
To be honest the melting point of plastic is pretty high, if you're using the UTH in conjunction with a thermostat then you have nothing to worry about. The temp range we keep ball pythons in is no where close to melting plastic.
