    I have asked some stupid ?s

    But this will take the cake.I have a small electric heater with a built in fan.Could I put a thermostat on it and use it as the heat source in a converted mini frige incubator?

    I would suggest just going with a couple of feet of heat tape. Like Heather said, there could be safety hazards and I don't know how reliable it would be even on a tstat.

    ya heat tape may be an easier and safer route.
