Hot Side Temps..
Okay so I am a bit confused about this. Everyone says your hot side temperature should be 92-94.. but is this temp for above or below the substrate? My thermometer probe is on the glass under the substrate (about 1-1 1/2" Aspen)
What should the temps be at under the substrate, and what should the temps be at above the substrate?
Hope I worded this right. Thanks!

Re: Hot Side Temps..
I have mine above (well, at the surface of) the substrate. After all, you want to measure the temp the snake is receiving. I make sure that temp is 92-94.

Re: Hot Side Temps..
I am concerned about a couple things. If I put the probe under the substrate, I know that he will not get burnt if he ever gets to the glass, but I never know what temperature he is really recieving. While on the other hand, if the probe was on the substrate, I know what temperature he is recieving but I will not know the UTH's temperature.
What do you all think?

Re: Hot Side Temps..
i use newspaper and i make sure the heat pad on the hot side isn't producing more then 95*F or lower then 90*F. i place the probe under a layer of newspaper. it's thin so i know the surface layer isn't much different.

Re: Hot Side Temps..
just make sure the pad isn't producing more then 95*F under the bedding and you will be fine bro.
since you're using up to 1 1/2" of aspen place the probe in the middle of the bedding for better results.
