My first attempt at trying to hatch

Wish me luck....my female laid her first clutch that i actually saw in time to put in the incubator. Was everyone else nervous the first time they tried to hatch the eggs? I am so afraid I am going to do something to mess it up.

That is not gonna make you feel better but I am nervous every time I hatch a clutch

    You will be ok though!

    Good luck.

mine is possibly gravid, i think waiting for eggs is more gut wrenching than waiting to hatch, course this will be my first ones as well... from what i read as long as you have the substrate right and dint' turn the eggs, maintain temp, and give the water a place to vent so it doesnt' drip on the eggs...if they're fertile they'll be ok .

Re: My first attempt at trying to hatch

I just found out they should be far enough along I can candle them...I had not done it yet because I wasn't sure if they would be developed enough to see....

Re: My first attempt at trying to hatch

I just candled them a saw red streaks (kind of look like blood vessels or something) in there...correct me if I am wrong, but that should mean they are fertile right?

just got mine thismorning and they had little red halos on the top of both of them when candled so looks like we'll both be waiting about the same amount of time hehe.

Re: My first attempt at trying to hatch

Congrats! We have so many eggs all the time now that I don't pay any attention. Every couple days I check the incubator and sure enough, eventually some gecko babies show up!
