    "Vanilla" Morph?

I was browsing the BP photo gallery at NERD the other day, and I saw a snake that looked identical to one of mine. I clicked on the picture that was labeled "Vanilla," and the link was dead- it just came up with a message that said I was not authorized. Strange, because all the other photos in the gallery worked.

I've owned ball pythons for six years, and I've only ever had normals, with the exception of this one. I thought maybe it was just an extremely light normal, but she's much lighter than even my lightest one.

Anyway, I'd like to know if anyone owns or has produced a "Vanilla" ball python. I'm not sure what distinguishes the Vanilla from the normal, so if anyone has any insight, I'd appreciate it.

I'm guessing that if you paid for a normal, you got a normal. But post some pics and maybe someone with experience working with vanillas could tell you.

Vanillas are a co-dominate morph, the super form has also been proven. They usually have a funky faded head pattern as well as a lighter overall color.

    Re: "Vanilla" Morph?

If you breed it to a proven vanilla and get supers, you have a vanilla. If not, you have a "vanilla-like"

A lot of the time it's the only way to tell with subtle codoms... some wild caught "yellowbellies" don't ever prove out to produce ivories.

I have a couple Vanilla's, they are a great morph with lot's of potential in combo's. If you can post pic's of your's that would go a long way in identifying your snake.
