    Those weird rats

I bought a brand spanking new water bottle for my ASF's last weekend. Filled her up and thought all was well in the world. These guys go through a lot of water during the day, so I bought a larger size.

Except, I return in the morning to see this.

So I start messing with the sipper valve ball, and water is coming out, the rats hear the ball and run over and start drinking like none other.

Feeling sorry for the guys, I gave them a couple of bowls of water to help quench their thirst.

Turns out, if this particular bottle isn't straight up and down, the air bubble doesn't float to the top and let more water out.

Oh well, swapped it out with another of the same brand and size, and it works fine!

Very cute pic! I had the same thing happen before with some of my rats! I felt so bad for them!

    Re: Those weird rats

Yea, and it's only the bottle that is so finicky about it! I have a bunch of this brand and type, I absolutely love them, so I gave this one to my 3 big boys, and they have done fine with it on their cage.

Reminds me, they we're completely surrounding the bowl drinking away, but I was too slow getting the camera.
