    Red Axanthic

So I am currently working with Red Axanthics. I just wanted some feed back on what everyone thinks about them and the different crosses made so far. I have only personally seen the Red Axanthic/Pastel cross but I am planning next year to work the Lesser and the Spider into it. Later this year I am going to be getting a few more reds right now I only have the little female het. red but will have some nice looking reds next year for breeding. just waiting for them to be done breeding this year then I am going to buy them. So anyways what does everyone think of this mutation? I know it is my favorite ever but wated to see what everyone else thought.

    Re: Red Axanthic

I personally like Reds/Het Reds cause I have a thing for blackbacks and a morph that actually throws blackbacks was awsome to me, not to mention I like Axanthics as well, though a red Axan and a regular Axan are pretty different in apperance in the long run.. There has been another combo with the Reds I believe Ralph Davis had done Cinny/Het reds and they are sweet.

I'm taking a shot myself next year to try and prove out a w/c boy that could be a possible het red or something..he's got the looks for something genetic.

    Re: Red Axanthic

Yea I totally forgot about them and I found an earlier thread on here with a bunch of different crosses... But I am still going to work with mine they are my favorite of all and I just got an albino bp that I am going to bring into the mix when I can, its only a baby, but I want to see a red albino.

    Re: Red Axanthic

Do you think a red albino is even possible?..considering that the albinism gene completely eliminates dark pigments...you might end up with a different lookign albino maybe....

    Re: Red Axanthic

I think a red axanthic X albino would make an interesting snow, and a het red axanthic X Albino could be a white back albino which are always cool looking. That's something I'm certainly going to be working on in the future. And I do like the Het red axanthic X Cinnamon crosses, they blend nicely together.

    Re: Red Axanthic

I know the albino het Red has been made as well as a few others but no full blown red axanthic crosses except for pastel and super pastel that I can find. I am interested to see an albino red I think it might make something like the bubble gum snow corn snake or something like that... just a thought... I am also vey interested to see an ivory red maybe it will be something odd... time will tell i guess
