Mites
So I woke up this morning and our lesser was shedding. As I was tossing the shed in the garbage I noticed a bunch of black spots crawling on it. Ya we've got mites So my question is, can rats/ASF's get mites from snakes? When we disinfect should we do the rats as well as they are in the same room?

Mites are host specific.
If you have snake mites, I would recommend you to treat this snake with PAM, provent a mite which will treat all staged of development of mites, and I would also recommend you to treat any other snakes you might have.
If you have rodent mites in your colony I would also recommend you to treat them.
Quarantining new addition whether rodent or snakes and treating for mite preventively is always a good idea.

Re: Mites
I was also wondering, how long can I mite survive without a host? And does anyone know if Petco or Petsmart carry PAM
