Craigs list: DUMB people

I was surfing Craigslist and an add caught my eye. 2 female ball pythons. I emailed him and asked what where they eating and how much. The guy emailed me back saying "cage and both girls $110. They are 2 years old and are fed 1 (yes ONE) MOUSE every 2 weeks" I was like WHAT a 2 year old and you are only feeding in one mouse every two weeks, you are starving the poor things. So off I go and look at his snakes. They both where skin and bones. I offered him 40 for the healthiest of the two. I didn't think I could bring the other one back as it was so thin and hardly moved when handled. He accepted. After a lecture on how he should be feeding his snake (I know he was just blowing me off) I took my new girl and ran. She is in quarantine. She was dehydrated and first thing she did was crawl into her water and drink. She is a beautiful girl. I offered her a small asf and she nailed him, so I offered her another small one (hoppers). I don't think she is 2 y.o, if so she is the smallest 2 year old I have ever seen. Below are a few photos of her.










She wasn't coooperating with the photo shoot. The photos don't catch her beautiful color. She looks so much like a pastel. She will make killer babies when I pair her with my male pastel. I am haven't weighed her but I would be surprised if she is over 300g.

Wow... what are some people thinking?! Good save, she is beautiful. I pray for the sake of the other girl he takes your advice. I hate to hear about neglectful pet owners. Congrats.

Aww, I like the pic of her peeking over the corner of her tub. She is beautiful!

I hope the other one finds a good home as well. Its a shame what can happen when people don't look into what an animal needs before buying it. If he's been feeding them so little for the last 2 years I'm guessing that could cause her small size. Can't grow when you're eating a third of what you actually need!

I never did like craigslist.org... It just seems too hard to find anything in good condition.

CL isn't bad, in fact it's great! IF you know what you're doing and know how to search. Also if you are willing to check things out before buying.

I recently re-homed a gorgeous adult male Leopard Gecko, Albino patternless at least if not more. And I got him from CL. He had been a class pet, and the teacher was wanting something new for the class. He is in great shape...in fact a little TOO great. I learned they had been feeding him mostly WAXworms because he 'loved them so much'. No wonder he has a slight double chin and very plump tail. Currently, he is in a much better tank (typical pet store advice setup before) and eating only crickets every other day to try and get his fat down. He's a sweety though, and I'll have a thread and pictures up soon.

Anyway, I do hope that lovely girl improves quickly! It's so sad to meet folks who believe their buddy or pet store employee so much that they ignore the good accurate advice of a knowledgeable stranger.
