    Hi,

I think we have the first bit of that sorted out - I meant it would not be your fault not that you had acted in an irresponible manner.

    As to the second part?

I am someone who unintentionally bred a small female and actually had her retain eggs and suffer for it.

    http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...ad.php?t=39527

I sadly know firsthand that a "low chance" of eggbinding etc does not mean "no chance"

Now she was around 1300-1400g at the time of breeding if I am remembering correctly - a full third larger than the female you are discussing.

She made a full recovery by the way and I am actually pairing her up again this year - but if she has any further breeding related problems she will never be bred again. It just wouldn't be fair to her.

But the reason I posted was I knew how horrible I felt knowing that I had caused her those problems and would quite like other people not to have to feel like that.

When I joined this site I was making every mistake in the book plus a few of my own invention.

    Re: prego

I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure she will be fine. I also think that egg binding is less common than you think. From what I understand, smaller female lay smaller eggs, so should not have any issues passing them.

    Good luck!

Do you have any proof? Documentation?
