What a jerk.

Id be real careful about this guy.... reactions like that bother me... you dont hurt animals no matter how angry you are. ( Tossing one back at someone is endangering the animal)

I would definitely make sure your house, and windows are LOCKED when you leave. i wouldnt want a vindictive friend to come back and harm the animals.
