    They WILL be larger and carrying slugs does not take as much out of a female as do eggs. "Slug-girls" should snap back quickly.

    There is no pattern to slugs that I have found. There are MANY theories -- but even more exceptions to those theories. Your are just as likely to have almost no slugs next season -- total CRAP-SHOOT!!!!

    I feel your pain on the het pieds. I have a trio of hets and a visual female. All 05's. So far I have had 11 slugs and one good egg from the group. The one good egg ended up being a 66% poss het male. Good luck next season. At least you know your females will be nice and big for next season.
