    why is it that everyone that wants to "rehome" their reptiles on cl never "has time for them" that excuse is getting old. and I guess they also didn't have time to so a quick search and find out that heat rocks are a NO NO. people amaze me sometimes

    the reality is they get bored with an impulse buy pet and are tired of paying money to feed it..

    As for heat rocks, they sure seem like a good idea to anyone who has never heard of them before. After all, it's pretty common for people to think that all reptiles seek out warm rocks to bask on. "And they wouldn't sell it if it was bad for my pet, right?"

    Everyone is subject to impulsive decisions, and everyone has done something without thoroughly researching or understanding the implications or resources necessary.

    your right. I just wish that the pet stores would help to inform people and take the animals welfare in to account instead of making sure they have a full bank account.

    They would need to know how to properly care for the reptiles themselves before they pass on the info .No matter how hard we try to inform them they only care about the money period
