Question Better ideas for tub bedding?????

ok I have tried a few different types of bedding for my rack/tub system and what works best with keeping the humidity is paper towels bit the only thing is that the snakes move them around very easy and they get all out of place. I have tried Aspen and it kept the humidity too high at 99% same with reptibark and I have even tried plain old newspaper with the same results. Any other ideas for bedding or ways to keep the paper towels in place??

I use the Bounty Select-a-size paper towels and those work great and I can fit them perfectly in my 28qt tubs. They also fit flawlessly in the 6qts for hatchlings.

How often do you replace them and how big are your tubs?
1.0: Honey Bee | Lesser | Banana Pastel Enchi | Clown 66% Het Albino
0.1: Kingpin | x2 Mojave | Super Pastel HGW | Albino | Sterling Mojave Pinstripe | GHI Pewter | Pastel Het Clown | Sable 66% Het Clown

I have 40Qt long tubs and I replace them once or twice a week or as needed. And I hve the select a size but need two seperate sections to fit width wise and they are always moving them and going in between them and laying under them. I have hides in for them but only 2 go under the towels. As I have 6 total snakes and just went to a rack/tub system.

How big are the snakes? 40qt is mainly used for full sized adults they usually get moved up in size from a smaller tub between 1000g - 1500g... Too much space can sometimes stress the snake out.

i vote SMALLER water dishes. i use 12oz dishes in tubs that only have 20 holes soldered in for air and humidity says in the 58-63% range.

Before changing bedding all the time stick with one and figure out what needs to be done. This is why its crucial to have setups ready and running a minimum of 2 days before getting the snake.

Newspaper is the best if looking for lower humidity.

Here is a picture of my set up if it helps at all! Also all are under 400 grams and the littlest one is like 125-150grams. They are all under a year old.

Thanks! My brother and I are waiting for a rack/heating/thermostat from reptile basics and should be here this week so I think the tubs that come with that are alot smaller than the ones we are using now so we should be good then. It is the Iris wide rack system with 8 tubs. I will be using that chart though!! Thanks again!!

    All great advice!!!

I was going to ask you if you had enough holes in your tubs, newspaper works great for me.

    I second this.

Add more holes to your tubs.

And from the looks in the picture your 40qt tubs aren't as big as I was thinking. Those are a lot taller than any of the tubs I own.
