    a quick laying question,

    hi

i have a female spider which i have bred to a pastel and a lesser, both locked up on many occasions and i am sure she is gravid now, when i palpate her i feel 4 large lumps in the back half of her body towards her tail, they are about the size of small plums, my question is how large are the eggs before she goes in to her pre lay shed? or im thinking i may have missed the pre lay shed so what do i need to look for?

    many thanks

    Re: a quick laying question,

Your female will go in pre-lay shed 14 days after she ovulates, so the question is did you see her ovulate?

Next 27 to 35 days (sometimes more ) following the pre-lay shed she will lay her eggs.

If she has not ovulated yet keep pairing her.

I usually miss ovulation, but this year I caught two girls on the same day!

Before ovulation the follicles feel hard like a marble or golfball (depending on size). After ovulation they are harder to feel but if you can they will feel more like the egg itself.

    Good luck!

trust me when you see an ovulation you will know it, she will most likely be streched out and her lower half will be huge.
