rep-cal bearded dragon food?
I'm thinking about getting a bearded dragon and was wondering if it was OK to feed exclusively this stuff to a bearded dragon. here's the link http://www.repcal.com/BDragon.htm
Any responses will be appreciated.

I use it and they grow great on it, but I also feed bugs because it gives them something to do and to fill them up more.

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat

do you think it would be ok to feed nothing but this stuff to a baby beardie?

Re: rep-cal bearded dragon food?
No. While it is okay to offer a bit of that stuff every now and then, it cannot replace bugs and salads. Although it has some good vitamins in it (not enough to replace dusted crickets), it is nowhere near as healthy as live food and salads. Some beardies won't even try it. But, I guess it's a good thing to have on hand in case you are for some reason unable to get food for a while. It's better than nothing.

Re: rep-cal bearded dragon food?
A variety is absolutely essential to the well being and healthy growth of your dragon. I always used Rep-Cal for more of a supplement than I did the main diet. I feed my Dragons live crickets, mealworms, greens and then some Rep-Cal sprinkled on top of the greens. My crickets also get dusted with Calci-Powder to ensure their calcium levels remain at safe levels for them. All of my Dragons are in excellent health and are comparable in size.
I have also talked with Dragon owners who fed Rep-Cal exclusively and they had issues with their pets becoming impacted over time. Not sure if feeding their pet Rep-Cal exclusively was the culprit, but I've seen nothing to say it couldn't have been the culprit.

I agree, variety is really the most important thing for beardies.
