I want to know whatever heat source you guys use.
Because I'm so confused, lol. I know you see me around asking all these stupid questions, But I get people saying different things. I just want my snake to have the most comfortable living environment. If this helps, I have an Exo Terra porcelain heat lamp with a 75 watt Exo Terra Day Glo Basking Tight Beam Bulb for the day and for night a 75 watt Heat Glo Infrared Heat. I would take pictures but I can't find my USB cord. Thank you so much.

I would recommend to buy an Undertank heater it works pretty good you also might want to buy a Repti temp control from zoomed so you can control your temps....lamps dont give an exact heat your snake wants....

Yeah, I forgot to mention that. I have only 1 UTH with two Accu-rite thermometers. Do I add a second one on the bottom for the cool side?

I use undertank heaters w/ a rheostat. The helix thermostats are the best, but they are pricey. Heat tape works really well if you have more than one snake and plan on building a rack. They'll work on everything actually, I am just quaranteening right now, so UTH's are my way to go.
BPs regulate their heat through thier bellies, so its better to have an under tank heater (UTH). Watch your humidity with those overhead lamps. they can dry them out. If the humidity is fine you can keep them to raise your ambient. Every set up is different and require different ways to set up. It also depends on your house temp, and where you live. You will hear a lot of different answers, because I live in KS, and I have a split level house. My top level stays pretty warm, which keeps my ambient up. I don't have to use a light. It is dry here, so I have to take extra precaution with my humidity. Someone in Florida will have a different set up than me. It's humid down there and warmer than here year round.
As long as everything is measuring out fine, it really doesn't matter what you do. I hope this didn't confuse you more

I use radiant heat panels on all my cages.

Whatever method of heat, a good thermoSTAT is a NEED! To recap - the ThermoMETER measures the temperatures inside the enclosure and digital with probe is best.
ThermoSTAT controls the output of the heating device, and better quality is a better buy. The best cheaper stat would be the Johnson or Ranco for @ $80.
Radient Heat Panels are a good source of heating, but they're expensive.
Lamps should only be used as supplemental heat to boost ambient temps.
How many UTH's do I need for a glass 10 gallon tank?

Re: I want to know whatever heat source you guys use.
I have flexwatt and a johnson controls thermostat.
for a 10gal you need 1 UTH. The under tank heater should cover 1/3-1/4th of the bottom of the tank on the outside.

One normally, but if your ambient temps in the snake room are colder, then you might want to get two.
