lock up without a lock up?

if the title confused you, imagine how I feel. Will a breeding pair sometimes curl their tails together without a true lock? I hope not, but now I'm getting the feeling that this is what might be happening with my pair .

I'll be disappointed if that is the case, but pleased in knowing that the male has the idea of what to do for the future. I've put them together a few times for about three or four days each time and have witnessed 7 lock ups.. but wondering if they are true lock ups. I guess only time will tell.

    thanx.

    Happens all the time.

Just cuz you see the "lock" doesnt mean that there is penetration.

Why are you thinking they weren't true locks now? I sure hope they were!

Can you lift the tails a little bit to check? Or is that bad? lol

see, that is what is confusing me.. I have lifted the tails a few times and most times both tails came along for the lift. I didn't see any "pink" from the hemipenes but I didn't really want to pull to see if it was definite. the last time I did a tail lift, both tails lifted up but then his tail slid off and I didn't see anything protruding. I will be so disappointed.
