well I personally wouldn't use a basket, but it might be okay as long as there are no sharp edges and as long as it's not too big for your snake. You have to make sure it's relatively tight fitting to your snake height wise as well as length/width wise. When you wash it just make sure you use little to no soap and rinse it well.
I don't think the pink case would be that good because it's not completely opaque. They really need to feel like they're in a small, dark, secure place and something like that wouldn't achieve the darkness part.
If it's only going to be 2-3 days and you can't find anything made of opaque plastic, I would use some sort of cardboard box of the appropriate size. Those make great temporary hides unless they're going to be getting wet
