    Substrat/Temp problem??

Ok, for the past two mornings I have woken up to a bare spot in my substrate above the UTH. It measures about 94 right on the glass and 92 when covered with substrate. I can't understand why in that spot she doesn't want anything. I use aspen, and it's right next to her hide. She's a late 08. I've never seen her laying there, it's just bare in the morning. It looks like something a gravid female does right before lay. I really don't want her laying next to the glass, but it's safe if she wants too. Is this anything I should worry about?? I can post pics later if it helps.

Well if she isn't gravid, why would you have to worry about her laying eggs on the glass?

Mine move the substrate too. They just do that. When they coil their bodies it just moves the substrate away.

    Re: Substrate/Temp problem??

No no. That's not what I'm worried about. I'm just worried about her laying her scales on the glass. Is it safe for her to lay (as in laying down) on the glass. Sorry I'm using the wrong word. Lying on the glass. Is that better.

    Re: Substrat/Temp problem??

wait....are you worried that shes sitting directly on the glass and not the substrate? Cuz it doesn't matter, in fact mine are never on the substrate when I lift up there hides, they move it of the way so they can sit directly on the heat source.

No, it doesn't hurt them to lay on the glass.

    Re: Substrat/Temp problem??

Just making sure it wasn't a sign for something dangerous. Like mites to water. Well, that's going to be fun to clean, maybe i'll put down a papertowl for good measure. Thanks everyone!!
