    Bitey regurgitation? or wierd shed?

Hello again all. Well Bitey did something that she had done once before about 6 months ago, and dont think its quite normal. I left Sunday afternoon and came back today to find a bunch of balled up shed with possibly something inside it. So if it is a regurgitation, she did it about 5-7 days since the feeding. But it looks so wierd cause it looks like shed skin, and there was a section of it on the cage next to the stuff. She had some loose shed from her last shed on her top that is now gone. So what is this? When a snake regurgitates what does it look like when that much time has passed. And if its a shed, whats all the stuff in the middle of it? I should have looked at it more before flushing it down the toilet, but it looked really gross so my initial reaction was to get rid of it.

i doubt a regurg happened a week after feeding.

    Pics would have helped.

I find many snakes pass urates/defacate after shedding.

Yes other thing i forgot to mention... biggest poo i have seen from her yet next to the site as well. So i guess It was all just shed skin, and maybe the dark inside was just some of the substrate. Just seemed wierd as her sheds are usually not so perfect and tied up into a ball for me. I tried to feed her as well since her schedule lately has been a mouse every tuesday and she didnt even come out of her house wich is what made me initiallly think regurg as well but maybe the shed made her feel wierd too, ill give her a couple of days.

I don't think it was a regurg. Next time unroll the shed and have a look at it.

If it was sticky and mushy, might have been a sperm plug

Re: Bitey regurgitation? or wierd shed?

Ahhhh yes... the poo inside would make sense. All i know is it looked gross inside wich is why i thought it might be half digested food, somehow covered in a cocoon of skin heh. She did look hungry today so i fed her and she ate no problems and looks good. So, now onto my next problem. I got a digital thermometer/hydrometer, and the temp is good, and on the cool side the humidity is ok at 50%, but on the warm side it is only 25%. This i guess is because of my ceramic heat lamp. So.... Under tank heaters, whats the deal with these? Do i need alot of ventilation under it? I currently have my set up on top of a big entertainment center, mostly because i didnt know what to do with my old entertainment center, and so it is pretty high off the floor. But im assuming i would need to put it on blocks or something to get it up off the center? What do most ppl do about UTH and ventilation? Thanks again all!

If it was a regurgitation, you would never EVER forget the smell.

Most ventilation needs to be between the mat and the tank. You shouldn't have to worry about your entertainment center. It does need to be on a thermostat. You could also get a dimmer to draw that ceramic light down just a little. Some gave me instructions on a homemade one in a thread. You could try and do a search. I am confused thought, do you have a UTH? They really need belly heat to disperse heat throughout their body. I would definitely invest in one.
