Why to not keep males together (Graphic Pic's Be Warned)

I"ve kept these two males together for a few months with no adverse effects. Actually a 2.6 group and just a few days ago noticed that the one older male was getting beat up for the first time, Well today I go to check on them like I do everyday and I found this. Needles to say he ended up becoming snake food because I couldnt bare to keep him alive with this going on. Poor lil' guy!

The thing is though they breed the best when I have them in large groups like that but now there will only be one male in there

Thats odd, with mine I have had way higher production rates keeping them at 1.2, I have tried 1.3 1.4 1.6 and 0.3 (whoops) always ended up with more babies out of the 1.2 or at least thats what has worked for me.

I get that too, but if you separate them, the wound will heal right up.

I don't know why they'll hold still to be chewed up like that, but they recover easily.

It wasn't really beyond healing. I've seen worse. They're tough little animals. Nothing wrong with feeding them off though.

Its amazing how well they heal..I've seen them get split from stem to stern and in a week you'd never know.
