    A few questions.

I just recently got a 1.3 group of ASF's. First female has already had 10 babies and they are about a week old now. I'm not sure if the other two females are pregnant yet, but lets say they are but don't have the babies for a couple weeks.
My question is how many weeks difference in babies can you put them all in a grow out tub? Or is that not recommended?

I figure I have a couple more weeks before I need to have the tub ready for the current babies. But I was just trying to figure out if I'll need more than one.

Also, I was thinking of getting a tub ready for the breeding group that was bigger than the 10 gallon tank I have now. Could I move them all over right now? It's an extra tub we have and is 105 qt. I figured that would be plenty big for a 1.3. Or is it too big?

Any help or advise is greatly welcome! Thanks!

    Re: A few questions.

Well, I guess the questions are for nothing. The 10 babies went to 5 within just a day. No sign of them at all. So I decided to feed the remaining 5 off because I'd rather get good use out of them. And my female Bearded Dragon needed some nice juicy babies to eat as she just finished laying her 3rd clutch of eggs.

So I moved them over into the new tub and hopefully the male will start getting busy with those females and we'll have better luck next time.

    Thanks anyways!

I have always thrown all ages together, but as production grew, I started to sort by size just to make it easier on us to pick which size animal we want to feed off. As they grew, they go into tubs as mediums, then as larges, and so forth.

105 is definitely big enough, however, think about using that as a grow up tub for the weaners. It will likely be better suited for that.

    Re: A few questions.

Thanks for the advice! I got the 105 all ready and moved them over for now. I'll be going to the store this week so I'll pick up a smaller tub for them and then use the 105 for grow outs.

They seem a lot happier with more room. Of course they may not be enjoying the cat staring at them as I moved them into the smaller bedroom where I keep my Crested Geckos(It's the cats room too). The reptile room is just too over crowded for the bigger tubs. It couldn't be that we have too many reptiles. lol

    Thanks again!

    Re: A few questions.

You probably will need 2 grow-out tubs to seperate males and females.

They'll get used to cats. I have several 55g longs for my grow ups and my cats park themselves in front of them like they're plasma tv's. After a few days the ASF's will realize the cats can't get to them.

Thanks llovelace, I ended up buying two more 105 qt tubs. They didn't have anything smaller that I liked so I just kept with the same size as the other.

cobweb2000: You are right, they go about their business even with the cat staring at them.
