i would say leave it and ask your vet. Then if it needs to be taken of the vet can do it without causeing the snake pain

I would leave it to the vet.
The vet will know what to do, and if any type of procedure does have to be done, better the vet than you.

If you try cutting the skin off you could actually do more harm than good. It's also a great way to introduce infection to your pet. While it may sound silly, a non-sterilzed instrument can introduce bacteria and germ that could be potentially harmful to your snake. Wait a few days and see what happens. If things don't look better by, say Wednesday, I would get your snake to the vet for further, qualified treatment.
