For anyone that still believes this bill has no chance...
...have you seen the stats that show that groups like PETA and HSUS have just as much money (actually more) to push this bill forward than the pet industry has to fight it?

...have you seen the stats that 80% of legislation that Wayne Pacelle (President & CEO of HSUS) supports gets passed?

...have you seen the stats that in just a 2 year period of time ('06-'08), Wayne Pacelle and HSUS have worked for the passage of more than 225 new state laws, and more than 15 federal statutes?

These people know exactly what they are doing and how to get things passed! Now, I'll admit, I probably agreed with some of the laws they supported, the ones that were aimed at ending cruelty to animals. However, it is no secret that they want all animal ownership to end, and I don't agree with that! I won't supply a link for this one, because it is dozens of places all over the internet, but here is one quote from Wayne Pacelle:
Do you think HR 669 will not get passed, because it is too sweeping and our government would not outlaw harmless animals? Look at what JUST happened in CT:One generation and out. We have no problem with the extinction of domestic animals.

They outlawed quite a few species of animals, some of which are dangerous, and some of which are not. One example is poison arrow frogs. Here is info from the National Zoo:
Wow. Good thing the population in Connecticut now has nothing to fear from harmless captive poison arrow frogs. Not all arrow frogs are deadly, and only three species are very dangerous to humans....Arrow frogs are not poisonous in captivity. Scientists believe that these frogs gain their poison from a specific arthropod and other insects that they eat in the wild.
WAKE UP! The time has come! There WILL be legislation passed. The only thing we can hope for is to make our voice heard loud and clear so that whatever legislation is passed will be well thought out, based on real facts instead of unreasonable fears, and will damage our hobby as little as possible.
