Hello every one. I am having trouble keeping my tubs at the right temp. How high can I turn up my flex watt before I have to worry about the plastic on the tub melting? I will be keeping a close eye on the tubs as the heat goes up.

are you using a Thermostat?

I know the tubs wont start melting until around 225*F. I think its a bit higher actually..

I think you should be more worried about turning up the flexwatt and the heat from it melting you snake. Your temps in the tub shouldn't get higher than 95*F. You can crank up your thermostat until it gets to the desired temp.

you more liley to burn the snake or melt the flexwatt befoer the tubs. I had flexwatt get ot 134 once ( dang dimmer went wide open while still set at under 1/2 power) I got lucky and seen the temp chang befoer it injuried any of my snakes.. I have my tubs/rack sitting in a 81-86 degree room ( dependso n if the sun shinningin the window ) but my flexwatt is set to run about 94-99 the them differnece is what the flex surface rund not he inside of the tub which sit about 88-93 again all theat dependso n the sun heating te air in the room up. I setting up to get a ranco t-stat here soon and I will play with thos settings once it all wired up and running. makes note to silcone the probe tothe tub bottom.

What are your room temperatures? Sometimes a cold room makes for low tub temps. I put a couple oil filled space heaters in my basement and my temps everywhere were effected.
