That is what would be called a "dinker" project, basically you breed a snake that looks like it *MAY* have something going on. But these tend to be 3 years or longer projects before you can prove them out.
Some people get lucky, but... I would not bank on it.
Do you have the time and resources to breed him, hold back all the daughters, raise them up to breeding weight, and then breed them all back to dad, and provide for all the offspring? Figure out all of that and then decide if you are going to take a chance on a snake that is most likely a normal.
And to be honest, it does not look like a black pastel (to me at least).

No it's ok. We won't be breeding him. I got a good deal on him and I thought he looked "different enough". Normal is fine I like his look, and his pattern. He is just a pet for me.
