Make sure you cover the top screen with foil or plastic or something to keep the humidity in and you'll be set.
Not impossible, my house stays at 70, and my snakes cage never drops below 80. I have a 55 gal glass. It's not impossible. However, if a light is needed, then there should be one. As long as it's watched carefully.

No, but i did insulate three sides with some foam backing. I also have a waterfall, and a cup with paper towels to keep up the humidity. Her room also has a window that faces the sun, and i keep sheer curtains to keep the light out, but it lets the heat in. It could also be that her room sits across the living room, which stays the warmest because that's where the house thermostat is. It could be a hundred different things, but I think as long as lamps are on a dimmer, they should pose no threat. It's hard to tell someone how to set it up because every situation is different. Even though I am good at telling how to do it. lol.

The thermostat has a probe which you stick onto the UTH (on the outside of the cage). You then set the dial so you get between 90-94* on your thermometer measuring the UTH temperature. Once it is set you don't need to fiddle with it at all. That is the lovely thing about thermostats.
You can keep the lamp on a dimmer though so it just provides a little bit of heat to up your ambient temperature.
