If you take Pastel out of a bumblebee, then you are left with a darker spider. If you take a pastel out of any single morph it's combined with, you are taking some brightness away.. Pastel is a morph, correct, but it is a morph that brightens a another morph if combined with it. To me it is the original highlighter morph.

I think Deserts are way over priced.. If even for a thousand, I would not buy them. Just because they are new or HARD TO COME BY, DOESN'T MEAN THEY LOOK BETTER.

I guess I'll never own a desert then if they cost so much more than the others..
    Not worthy in my opinion.

prices are, as always, merely a function of supply and demand. Looks of a particular morph affect demand greatly, but you cannot disregard supply when understanding the price of a particular animal.

Supply is very low for deserts so they command a high price. Give it time. I like the combos they have produced but that's about it.

yeah I know that. But for looks, they arent that crazy nor extraordinary to be paying that much money for. But I understand there are low numbers in the market. Honestly, I can wait 100 years for their price to drop or I would never own 1 it doesn't matter. I'd rather spend my money on something else like a stinger bee or a big fat gold chain or whatever.

    I hear ya
    I classify morphs like this

AA- must haves in my collection asap. these are ones that I already have in my collection, am currently looking/paying for, or are being made in my collection (later today too)

BB- Very very nice morphs, a little too expensive for my current budget but on the list to watch for in the next year or two, especially this hatch season.

CC- Cool morphs, but nothing that really turns my crank too urgently.

DD- Way overpriced, I'd own them if they came cheap but I dont really care either way as space here is not unlimited and I'd rather work with something crazy.

Deserts would be a CC/DD..... Enchis are a BB moving into AA.... but dont tell my girlfriend

    Re: Highlighter morphs

Im with you then.. I got me an Enchi male. I already paid for another Enchi female and she's coming soon. I've owned all three morphs in the voting the poll.. Got rid of the fire and pastels.. The fire I had was something else. Put the Deserts to sleep.
Wish posting pictures wasn't so much trouble or I'd post them up.

Have you actually seen some of the combo's they create? Have you actually seen one in person? I can tell you from personal experience that seeing them with your own eyes blows away the photographs that are out there. I would have blown the $4000 price tag on one at Tinley last year if I would have had the money available.

A 'Desert' is not a 'Desert Ghost'.

A Desert is believed to be a co-dom, no super yet.
A Desert isn't just a 'clean up' gene, it does some amazing pattern mutations. Even on a het clown!

Check out NERD's website for the Desert Ghost, and Pro Exotics for the Deserts and their AMAZING combos.

Psst* Look up on the upper left hand side of the main page, see the Pro Exotics ad? There's a Desert combo there too.
